Have you read the "Judge Dee" books? They're by Robert van Gulik. You will love them.

I'm just finishing up "Some Danger Involved" and am looking forward to eating the whole egg (the others, with the exception of your brand new novel, await me on by bedside table).

Kudos.

I'm not as big a phantom phan as y'all, but as it falls into the Vic/Ed universe, I do try to read what I can. The Irene Adler pastiche was not my favorite, but I saw the author was trying to get to new territory. The 70's movie Phantom of the Metroplex (or Drivein Theatre, or whatever it was - the one with Wlliams) I thought was pretty good at the time. They used to show it on a double bill with List-o-Mania at the Film Forum in Atlanta about annually. The current Hellboy movie character of Abe seems to me to have a head very much like that phantom's mask.
I love crossovers - so, when will Barker have a shot at the Paris Opera? Or will there be a copy-cat at Covent Garden?

Yes, I too am a Phantom Phan. Deborah and I travelled to Toronto some years ago to see it at the Pantages theater. I'm not even close to being a fan of the theater, so I looked upon the trip with great trepidation. However, the sets, the acting and especially the music were outstanding and I remain a "Phan". I doubt I will get pulled into a theater again until a Will Thomas novel is made into a play.

I'm a Phantom phan and one of those in the "sea of women."

Lately, I've been thinking about Phantom from a feminist perspective and wondering where I can find a guy that will say, ". . .anywhere you go, let me go too." :-)

I enjoyed the interview, Julie and Jodie!

The Bok Fu Ying character drawing and the Street Scene are my favs.

Pen and ink seems to work well to convey the atmosphere established in Thomas' novels.

As a committed Christian, I love the references to Spurgeon, his sermons and Barker's moral view of the world. As a matter of fact, I read from Spurgeon's "Morning and Evening" devotional almost every - most times twice a day.

I also enjoy the subtlety of it - and that it doesn't get in the way of the mystery or "man of action" that Barker can be. It's the way Christianity should be. Real, passionate and compassionate, actionable and absolute.

Well done!

Woo hoo! I think I'll celebrate by buying all the books, instead of just checking them out. :) Don't suppose you'll be going on a tour through Kansas?
